URBACT

URBACT is a programme funded by the European Commission aimed at the promotion of sustainable urban development. The main focus of the programme is to share good practices and lessons learned between professionals involved in urban policy throughout Europe. 

Description

URBACT enables cities to work together to develop solutions to major urban challenges. Via funding transnational projects, URBACT supports cites to develop pragmatic solution which are new and sustainable, and that integrate economic, social and environmental dimensions. National Dissemination Points (NDPs) have been installed in all European member states. The main responsibility of NDPs is to disseminate – at country level- more information about the URBACT programme and the results achieved by the individual projects. Nicis Institute is the Dutch National Dissemination Point for URBACT.
